Chapter 5
Written by Anonymous, Anonymous, Anonymous
Jem and Dill are bonding
while Scout is left all alone
Jem and Dill start taunting
Boo Radley in his own home
a note at the end of a fish pole
Invited out for ice cream
an act of good intentions
that Aticus didn't condone
when Miss Maddie Atkinson talking
Scout begins to see
if he wasn't crazy back then
he might as well now be.

Chapter 6

Scout and Jem and Dill seek fun,
Radley’s house their option one
Radley’s house is where they creep
Window shutter: through, they peek
A tall man spooks them by surprise,
And sneaking ‘round now seems unwise,
As tall man shoots his gun at night.
All the kids begin their flight.
Jem’s pants catch on fence’s gate
He will not accept this fate
Takes his pants off, no debate.
Seems Jem’s pants will have to wait.
Back in town, all is revealed
For such sounds resound afield
Many neighbors were alarmed,
Thinking someone had been harmed
Tall man: none but Nathan Radley
Storming down the street, quite madly
Spewing racial slurs about trespassing- he won’t let it fly
The “Negro” who he tried to shoot
Was none but those three kids to boot
He warns the town that anyone who roams back there is going to die
Under cover of the night
Jem retrieves his pants alright
Dill leaves Maycomb on this day
Next year he’ll be back to play
Radley’s house is now off limits
The kids are disappointed, for its
Darker side has been revealed:
Nathan Radley. Gun he’d wield.

Chapter 7
Written by Marya, Anonymous, Anonymous
School is out for Jem and Scout,
When they find some mysterious pants hanging about.
Then move along finding another thing
Inside a knothole, it was a ball of grey string.
Scout is still unhappy about being in 2nd grade,
But Jem promises her that it will be a good year.
Then they find themselves inside the hole, as soap figurines.
But later that day there is
Another present inside the knothole.
Then they plug it up, never knowing what was in there ever again.

Chapter 8

They gather baskets of earth and snow to build a snowman.
Because it's the first time the kids have ever seen snow.
The snowman looks like Mr.Avery,
Though Atticus doesn’t think so.
Mr. Snowman freezes overnight,
And everyone else does too.
Miss Maudie’s house catches on fire.
Scout and Jem sit in front of the house that belongs to Boo,
Watching as the village men work together to put it out, although with tire.
From putting out a fire that's getting higher and higher.
And every one is having their doubts
Feeling worried that the fire wouldn’t go out.
But finally the village workers get help,
After the fire was burning for what seems like ten hours plus four.
Later Jem and Scout discover they were covered by a woolen blanket,
That wasn’t there before.
Boo Radley put it there more quietly than a cricket.
To keep her from getting snow-drowned.
Miss Maudie was not upset that her house was burned brown.
And she did not frown,
So the kids did not feel so down.
